Anytime Supply Chain software is the next-generation MRP software and DRP planning software and sale forecasting system for users of Sage 500 ERP. While the system supports most of the same features as the e2b Anytime 500 Enhanced MRP software and e2b Anytime 500 Sales Forecasting software modules – not all functionality has been developed for Anytime Supply Chain software at this time. Below are some of the gaps between the two systems that will be considered for future development over time.
Forecast Allocation By Percentage – Anytime 500 Sales Forecasting software allowed for the definition of a forecast for a group of items and the system would breakout the item forecast quantities based on a percentage. For example, a forecast product group might contain three items. The forecast would be entered for 100 units at the group level and then allocated to each of the three items based on a percentage – such as 10% to the first item, 20% to the second item, and 70% to the third item. This feature is not currently available in Anytime Supply Chain software but is not a critical gap as companies can accomplish a similar forecasting strategy within Excel and import the results back into the system.
Forecast Modeling – Anytime 500 offered an optional, advanced module called Forecast Modeling. This module included ForecastPro by Business Forecast Systems to generate a statistical forecast based on historical demand and was completely integrated with the system. Companies can still use ForecastPro to generate statistical forecasts with Anytime Supply Chain software but the process is not embedded and requires them to use the system stand-alone and then to import the statistical forecast into Anytime Supply Chain software for planning.
Order Creation – As mentioned previously, creation or conversion of planned orders from Anytime Supply Chain software to actual purchase orders, transfer orders, or work orders in the back office ERP system may require use of additional tools such as Visual Integrator, Data Import Manager, or scheduled Windows jobs while e2b Anytime 500 Enhanced MRP software could create new orders directly into the system.
Planning Workbench – Anytime 500 Enhanced MRP software utilized the traditional Sage 500 MRP software MRP Planning task for material planning. This screen was nice but had many limitations. The Anytime Supply Chain software MRP Planning Workbench is very different and organized around MRP Action Messages. We feel that it is a much better presentation of the information that will be much easier for planners to use than the previous system design.
Other Differences – Anytime 500 was developed within the Sage 500 framework and designed specifically for use with Sage 500 so it was easy to integrate the planning system directly to the ERP database and existing, product-specific features in the Inventory Management software, Sage MRP software, and e2b Anytime 500 Engineering Change Order systems. In general, the vast majority of functionality is still supported within Anytime Supply Chain software but there are some specific limitations in comparison to the Anytime 500 product line.
